Exhibits
Use this reference for exhibit packets, appendices, timelines, screenshot records, email/text evidence, financial records, and factual record books.
Structure
Evidence should be easy to authenticate, cite, and review. The strongest authority or operative order is usually Exhibit A. The most probative breach or compliance evidence follows before background context.
Common shells
- Exhibit appendix: table or section listing exhibit letter, title, date, source, and purpose.
- Screenshot exhibit: image plus source device/app, date captured, participants, and relevant visible metadata.
- Email/text appendix: sender, recipient, date/time, subject/thread, source, and excerpt or full content.
- Timeline exhibit: chronological reference tool, not a substitute for argument.
Drafting checks
- Do not bury long evidence excerpts inside motion argument.
- Give every exhibit a stable letter or number.
- Include source and authenticity context.
- Use short body citations like
(Exhibit C). - Keep private child-sensitive facts no broader than necessary.
